The AxisRemit facility can be used by any non-resident Indian (NRI) looking to send money from his/her bank account in the UK and other select countries to a beneficiary in India. It is also possible to send the money your own NRE account in India.
UK NRIs can also use online transfer to send money to India using their local bank’s internet banking facility. The minimum amount that can be sent using online transfer, per transaction, is GBP £100, while the maximum is GBP £20,000.
AxisRemit online is for only personal transfers, which means that you cannot send money from or to business or non-individual accounts.
NRIs in the UK can also send money to India via Smart Wire – a semi-online money transfer method. This option has the same minimum transfer limit, though you can send up to GBP 9,900,000 in a single transfer. It is also for personal transfers.
Money sent via AxisRemit online is received by the beneficiary in 2-3 working days.
