What is the DVLA?
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, known better as the DVLA, is a subdivision of the UK government’s Department for Transport which maintains a register of vehicles and drivers in the UK.
The DVLA provides provisional and full driving licences as well as allowing users to purchase vehicle tax online under the new rules.
Much of the DVLA’s work has moved online, so drivers can now view their information and replace lost documentation, such as a licence or V5C logbook, from the comfort of their own homes. Even the SORN (Statutory Off-Road Notification) can now be made online.
As with any popular online service, there are always technical issues that people wish to phone up about. Fortunately, contacting the DVLA by phone is easy.
